DESCRIPTION: Length Up to 4mm. A small insect with a lovely olive-green colour that can, at times, be almost black. The main identification aspects are the large red eyes, the dark colour to the head, first two antennal segments and front part of the pronotum, the almost black edges to the rear femora, the spines on the hind tibiae which are equal to or longer than the tibial width and which generally arise from black spots and the dark hairs which are found on the pronotum and forewings. BEHAVIOUR: Adults are found on a wide range of plants but have a particular preference for Nettles. DISTRIBUTION: Common throughout Britain. HABITAT: Woodland edges, grassy rides and rough grassland. PERIOD: July to October.
